Practical Training

All training has to be completed through a FSRH recognised General Training Programme (GTP). Our TP reference is TP1014.

We can travel to your surgery or clinic in the North West of England to provide training for you to achieve LoC IUT, this has the advantage that you can work in your own environment and we can advise on equipment and running an IUD service. A total minimum of 7 competent insertions is required including at least one hormonal and one copper IUD, please click here for information.

We are usually able to obtain funding to support the cost of your training.

Refresher Sessions

Clinicians who are already fitting IUDs can organise a refresher session with one of us. This may be just an update for you or for Recertification of LoC IUT to obtain 1 CPD point for Peer Observation.
